FLORIDA PARTNERSHIP TO END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

ESCAROSA SUICIDE PREVENTION COALITION – EscaRosa Suicide Prevention Coalition is a passionate and dedicated group of professionals, organizations, and persons with lived experience who recognize the importance of suicide prevention in our community. We work to impact Escambia and Santa Rosa counties’ suicide rate by education, advocacy, and strategic interventions.

NATIONAL SAEE HAVEN ALLIANCE – The Safe Haven Laws allow a parent to anonymously surrender their unharmed infant to a designated Safe Haven provider within a specific time after birth. 

OPEN BOOKS & THE PRISON PROJECT – Open Books is a nonprofit, volunteer-run bookstore. Proceeds from the sale of books and donations support the Prison Book Project, operating since 2000.

FOOD RAISING FRIENDS – Northwest Florida’s nutritional bridge for children during school breaks.

FREE CAR and HOW TO DONATE YOUR CAR – The organization’s main focus is to provide free donated vehicles to struggling families to assist them in their transition from dependency to self-sufficiency.

Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen – Provides hot breakfast each day at 7 a.m and dinner at 5 p.m. Provides emergency family shelter for 10 families. Has a family housing program, and thrift store.

Gateway Church of Christ – Every 2nd Saturday from 10:30 am – 12:30 am. Hot meals, hot showers, free clothing and supplies.

Florida Department of Children and Families – Apply for food stamps, cash assistance, medicaid, etc.

Simply Healthcare – Serves statewide medicaid and Florida healthy kids. You can apply for services, find a doctor and read about the benefits

Hillcrest Baptist Church – (850) 476-2233 – Supports all Hillcrest member. Others requesting assistance must live in zip codes 32504,32514,32533 or 32534. Hillcrest members receive assistance for as long as needed. Others are eligible for assistance 3 times per year. Request forms are available at the office.

Bright Bridge Ministry – Assists individuals in need with mail service, hygiene products, transitional housing, clothing vouchers, benefits assistance, education classes and recovery group meetings. An on-site volunteer assists applicants in qualifying and filling out documentation for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP/food stamps).

Legal Services of North Florida – Provides representation to low-income and vulnerable individuals in civil matters only. Eligibility for assistance may be based on income and assets of all members of the household and the legal problem. LSNF serves the legal needs of children, elderly, victims of abuse, veterans, and people with disabilities.

TRIO – Educational Opportunity Center; Hosted by Pensacola State College – Program that assists low and modest-income individuals who will be first generation college students either enrolled in a post-secondary institution for the first time or return to high school or post-secondary education. Must be 18 and older, and live in Escambia or Santa Rosa counties. All services are free.

Honor H.E.R. Foundation – Provides services for homeless women who are veterans; single and with families.

TRIO Upwards Bound – Program at Pensacola State College that helps prepare eligible veterans to enter and successfully complete college. Funding for TRiO VUB is provided by the U.S. Department of Education for 130 students and is free for qualified veterans.
